ELF HAUL | BRUSHES & OTHER FUN STUFF

I know it has been a long time since I posted (I say once again). I have been pretty busy with work, and on my days off I've been just so lazy. It's been so hot, and its been so nice out that I really don't feel like posting. I've been so lazy, like so so lazy it's horrible.

Beyond the fact on why I have not posted in while, I bought some items from e.l.f a few weeks ago because I was in need of some new brushes. While buying brushes I also bought high definition powder and false eyelashes.

My purchased everything using http://www.elfcosmetics.com. I really love elf but I probably will not be buying from online again, only in stores. I felt on the website it was hard to find out how much you where paying if you lived in Canada. I realized as I was purchasing I did not know the exchange rate amount until my order was processed. I knew I would pay a difference but I did not mind because I thought I would get free shipping. I realized I also was paying delivery even though on the website it did say over $30 free and did not mention not Canada. (I assumed because it was the Canadian/American flag options it meant both Canada and America.

Always I still love elf, and did not cancel because I wanted what I bought, but I believe next time I will just buy in store instead.

Over the website confusion part I really liked every item I bought. Any ways here is everything I bought and what I think!

Mineral Powder Brush :: I was so happy when I realized e l f sold a mineral powder brush. For the longest time I was just using a large e l f foundation brush that caused my mineral powder to fall everywhere. When I use the mineral powder brush it holds it in place, and covers much more area in one try. It all feel like it gives the face a better coverage than the other brush I used in the past.

Angled Contour Brush :: This brush works great and I use it every time I contour with a powder. I first apply the lines with this brush than I use the e l f kabuki contour brush to blend it all in. I find the brush it so harsh to blend in the contour. I only use this brush for powder because i find it is too large and stiff to use with a creme contour.

Fan Brush :: For the longest time I never used highlighter. I don't know why, but I just never found the use for it. A few months ago I bough a wet n wild highlighter thinking it was a bronzer. After learning how to use the highlight I feel in love. My next goal is to buy a better highlighter without sparkles but glow! Anyways, I decided I needed a fan brush. I find when using this brush you cannot apply to much onto the brush or it will fall off all over your face. I really like the brush, but I do plan on trying one of e l f's higher end fan brushes.

High Definition Powder :: I bought this powder because I wanted to start using the baking method and I saw some youtuber's use this powder. I'm still not a pro at baking, but I do like the method and use it sometimes with this powder. I find it sometimes falls a bit and leaves crease lines but overall it gets the job done. (If I used an under eye creme that may help!) After having it shipping to me I noticed that elf had a powder for just under the eyes which I do want to try next. (Maybe I should have bought also instead!) I also apply it all over my face sometimes to help my foundation to set so I can apply powder on top.

Concealer Brush ::  I really like the elf concealer brush. It feel it works just like any other brush and applies a decent amount to the areas you'd like to apply concealer. I would recommend using this brush to apply it only, than using a sponge or blender to blend it in.

Bending Brush :: I have been in desperate need of some good eye shadow brushes. This brush is so fluffy, vegan, and blends eye shadow out perfectly. I feel like this works the best for smokey eyes and blending.

Eyelash & Brow Wand :: I long my old brow wand so I replaced it with this one. It gets the job done, and helps my brows get into place.
TIP: Buy one and you can use it on your lips for dead skin!

Eyeshadow C Brush :: This C brush works amazing for up close, grungy, smokey eye looks. It also works great for applying eye shadow to one spot. This brush holds the makeup well so it doesn't fall all over your face while applying.

Lashes :: I honestly have tried to use the lashes but I found I had a difficult time applying them. It is probably due to my lack of experience with them. I plan on buying an application to help me apply false ones in the future.

Overall I am happy with what I ordered and do plan on buying elf products again. Only thing I would change for next time is buy in store. I know I haven't posted in a while but I hope to keep up to date! Thanks for reading and I have you enjoyed this post! Do you like shopping from elf?

  1. Great post. I'd love to try a fan brush too always just a bit nervous about getting a bad quality one. Maybe I'll give elf a try!
