The Color Institute | Cruelty Free & Great For Beginners | Great Buys

The Color Institute | Cruelty Free & Great For Beginners.

I don't know if anyone else went though this experience but as a young child I LOVED everything to do with makeup. If it was something I could play around with and put it on my face, I loved it.

The rule at my house because I loved makeup as such a young age, I could not wear it how I liked until I was 13! (honestly the highlight of my thirteen birthday was being able to wear makeup).

Anyways I always got those 'The Color Institute' Boxes and gift sets because they came with EVERYTHING as child could want, and more.
This Christmas that just passed from my one and only, dad himself, a 'The Color Institute Pastel Dream Glamours Makeup Collection.

At first I thought oh no, it's made in China, is MUST be tested on animals but after I looked long and far, I found out they are Cruelty Free!
This makeup set is great for begginiers, but honestly can be used for anyone at any age!

EyeShadows: The eye shadows are very pigmented but I find they show brighter when useing an average, sponage eyeshadow brush because it just transfers color over, not smudges. They are a bit lose and sometimes can be messy but are still just as great.

Mascara: The curved brush works amazing for eyelashes and applies a lot; trust me it's a pain and a half to get it all off. The only thing that could make it better is if it was natural, and didn't smell like mascara.

Eyeliner: I cannot say that I am the hugest fan of the eyeliner do to it being a pencil, and not being to  dark on the water line but it is alright under the under the lash line.

Blush: Until now I never used much blush because I always found I did not like the look, and was just a pain to try to find the right color for my face. After playing around with the colors I noticed how much blush can help your face! I love the rosey look on my cheek when I wear it.

"After talks with PETA, cruelty-free cosmetics giant Markwins, the parent company of the popular brand wet n wild, confirmed that it does not market its products or pay for any animal testing in China. Markwinshas been restored to our list of companies that do not test on animals." (http://www.peta.org/about-peta/victories/markwins-restored-petas-cruelty-free-list/)

Fun Fact: Chine has lifted some of the Animal Testing Policy so only some products now by law have to be tested so there ARE ways for brands to go around animal testing while still selling in China!

I know I have not posted in a while and I really hope I am able to post much more. A big part of the reason I have not been posting as much as I have been working a lot, and until now did not have the extra money to buy new makeup (hint hint, unit now ;) ) I have a bunch of new products I cannot wait to try more and write a review on for you guys! I know it's SUPER slow right now, but soon I should WILL be posting more!

I will be writing an EXTRA blog post on why my blog is different, why my .tk isn't working and everything that has happened in the past few months and why I have not posted as much!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the post! What makeup brand did everyone else grow up with? Any brands that bring back old memories?
